LICENSED MICROWAVE SYSTEMS
LTI DataComm has extensive experience with supporting licensed microwave networks for our customers. We know that government usage can be restrictive to only those bands that are available for government use and so only provide hardware known to operate in these ranges. LTI is also skilled at working with military and civilian frequency managers to handle the tasks of frequency requests and assignment. LTI engineers microwave links in the 6-38Ghz range with specialties in military bands of 4.5Gghz, 7/8Ghz and 15Ghz.
When it comes to licensed microwave, detailed path studies can be critical; especially when environmental and logistical data such as distance and obstructions are involved. LTI utilizes industry-leading path analysis techniques as well as our extensive experience in profiling microwave networks to facilitate the design and successful operation of your new line-of-site network.
Leasing fixed service lines can become costly when services are added over the expected operational lifetime of a project. Leasing can also be impossible when no existing infrastructure exists or when operating in foreign countries. With an average ROI in 2 years* and providing services to locations major carriers cannot, licensed microwave can be the key factor to support your organization with high speed network connectivity.

APPLICATIONS
Video surveillance and range scoring
When trenching a new infrastructure (such as fiber or copper) is not a viable option due to cost or environmental impact, licensed microwave systems are the solution. Interfaces for networks include telecom standards such as T1/E1, DS3, and OC3, as well as Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet. Modern digital microwave systems have dramatically improved over analog counterparts, and are now capable of providing backbone bandwidth of up to 1.2Gbps.
Video surveillance and scoring systems requiring high bandwidth and low latency are two areas where microwave systems score high marks. Typically it is not cost effective to install a fixed infrastructure on remote areas of a military base or range, however, the mission may require monitoring capabilities. By deploying a licensed microwave system you can rest assured that your network will be independent of others, ensuring that neither system can interface with the other.
