Soldiers Abroad to Watch Son and Daughter’s High School Graduations Online
LTI DataComm to Broadcast Ceremonies for 19 Montgomery County, Maryland High Schools

Sterling, VA – May 26, 2009– LTI DataComm, a supplier of superior network solutions and services to the Federal Government, and VBrick Systems, Inc., the leader in Enterprise IP Video solutions,  have teamed together to provide free on-demand  Internet broadcasts of graduation ceremonies at DC area schools to US soldiers serving abroad.  LTI partnered with VBrick, who is providing the streaming service and a dedicated portal free-of-charge, as part of LTI’s Community Outreach program.

“The dedicated men and women of the US Armed Forces accept many personal sacrifices in the name of serving our country," says Karl Hantho, Director of LTI DataComm.  “As an organization founded by and employing veterans, we are intimately aware of the importance of feeling close to home, even while deployed around the world.  The employees of LTI DataComm feel proud that we can give back to our troops by leveraging our expertise in network video delivery.  It is our hope that through this application, the employees of LTI and VBrick can give our troops a little taste of home no matter where they may currently be serving.”

The graduations will be streamed on-demand using VBrick’s Online Streaming Service (VBoss), which enables high quality live and on-demand video content over the Internet to a worldwide audience. Soldiers will be able to access the graduation footage by visiting www.vbrick.com/graduation   and clicking on the high school of their choice.

The first of the nineteen graduation ceremonies will be held on June 2.  An on-demand broadcast of the ceremony will be available within 2 days of receiving the broadcast from the school at www.vbrick.com/graduation . Subsequent ceremonies will be archived as the graduations take place.

“Through the power of streaming video, our men and women in uniform will be able to participate first-hand in what is a defining moment for many young men and women—their high school graduation,” said John Shaw, Executive Vice President, VBrick. “Video, unlike any other medium, has the power to capture the intimacy of life’s moments, allowing our men and women in uniform to experience the joy of their loved ones graduation first-hand, regardless of location. VBrick is honored to work with LTI on this worthwhile project.”
