LTI DataComm Awarded Prime Contract by US Marine Corps Special Operations Command for (MARSOC) for Wireless LAN Solutions and Services

Sterling, VA – May 05, 2009– LTI DataComm, a woman-owned/veteran founded small business, has been awarded a contract as a prime from USMC Special Operations Command (MARSOC) for the design and installation of a Secure Local Area Network (SWLAN).  LTI designed a wireless architecture that will be implemented to extend the current SIPR network infrastructure to provide SWLAN extensions to designated coverage areas within six buildings at Camp Pendleton in California. 

As the selected prime, LTI engineers will provide their expertise and past performance experience to design and implement a wireless architecture and Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) that will provide Type 1 encrypted wireless LAN connectivity with intrusion counter measures throughout the selected buildings on site.  As part of the turn-key solution, LTI will perform comprehensive tests at each building to confirm the functionality of the installed system.  This includes connectivity, signal strength, and range tests to ensure that the connection speed is within acceptable IEEE 802.11b standards, as well as to ensure that clients can ‘roam’ from one coverage area to another inside the same building.
