LTI DataComm Awarded MCTSSA Contract for SIPR Network Design
Sterling, VA – May 02, 2008– LTI DataComm, a veteran-owned small business, was awarded a contract from MCTSSA for the design and installation of a Wireless Secret Internet Protocol (SIPR) network for the 11th Marine Regiment located at Camp Pendleton California.
The initial requirements include providing secure wireless SIPR network connectivity in a total of 10 buildings. The winning LTI DataComm solution was the culmination of several engineering and design efforts: in-depth site surveys, an analysis of the existing network, requirements definition, customer interviews, and a review of industry best solutions. The results of these efforts led to the installation of a secure wireless LAN utilizing type 1 SecNet 11 and SecNet 54 products to provide both wireless SIPR connectivity and point-to-point bridging throughout the site.
“LTI is uniquely suited to these extremely secure requirements due to our engineering expertise with securing wireless communications for federal customers” stated Michael Meyers, VP of Managed Solutions for LTI. “Where the government experienced challenges in providing wired connectivity, LTI was able to draw on its depth of field experience and technical knowledge to propose a wireless extension using SecNet 54 wireless bridges that allowed the affected clients to receive SIPRNET until the PoP is established.”
As a trusted advisor, LTI was able to help the federal client understand the full scope of their requirements, leading to a contract modification and an overall win.
