LTI DataComm supports HaiVision’s high performance
MPEG-4 / H.264 encoders for
US Federal Markets
Sterling, VA - March 26, 2007 - HaiVision Systems Inc. (Montreal, Canada) and LTI DataComm (Sterling,
Virginia) today announce that they have formed a strategic relationship for the supply of high
performance and highly efficient video encoding technology to US federal markets. Within this the
long term agreement, LTI will integrate, support, and service HaiVision’s network video product line
for military and civilian video system applications. LTI will also carry all HaiVision solutions on its GSA
schedule and other federal purchasing vehicles for easy procurement.
HaiVision is the leading developer of high performance video codecs, specializing in high quality and low latency MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC encoders and multi-stream encode/decode systems. HaiVision’s products are widely integrated within telepresence suites, distance education virtual classrooms, medical applications, broadcast video backhaul, and IPTV systems. HaiVision has recently released products at three price performance levels taking advantage of the new MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 standard. This technology enables the transport of DVD quality video at less than 40% of the bandwidth traditionally required by MPEG-2 systems.
LTI DataComm is a veteran-owned small business that specializes in delivering optimized network and video solutions for government applications based on the very best available technologies. Founded in 1981, LTI has extensive experience in serving both classified and non-classified projects that demand the highest performance and reliability. LTI DataComm also guarantees the highest levels of post-sale and installation services through technical support and inventory capabilities.
“The requirements for MPEG-4 H.264 in government applications are everywhere,” explains John Hall, LTI’s Vice President of Sales. “We have been involved with MPEG-2 for many years, and now existing users want more manageable bandwidth utilization and new users want the very best video within specific bandwidth limitations. MPEG-4 H.264 is the new technology that will serve these clients for years to come.”
HaiVision is excited as well about this strategic relationship. “LTI is now giving HaiVision products the exposure they deserve with US government markets, and backing that exposure with unique network video integration talent combined with an extensive knowledge of the technical and commercial practices necessary to serve the US federal market,” comments Francois Gariepy, HaiVision’s President.
